1.Introduction
Allianz Care offers reliable international health insurance for individuals, families, and companies. Their plans are designed for expatriates who want comprehensive medical coverage abroad, with flexible options such as outpatient care, dental treatment, and maternity benefits. Allianz’s extensive global network ensures access to quality healthcare and smooth claim handling wherever you live or work. This insurance can be applied for up to the age of 75.
2.Cover and benefits
-
Comprehensive medical coverage: inpatient and outpatient care, maternity, dental treatment, repatriation.
-
24/7 Emergency Assistance and access to the MediLine Medical Advice Service.
-
Freedom of choice: select your preferred medical provider within your area of cover.
-
Flexible policy: minimum contract period is one year; mid-year cancellation with reimbursement is possible if you return to your home country (proof required, e.g., boarding pass or utility bill).
-
War risk included and reasonable and customary medical costs reimbursed in full.
-
Geographical Area of Cover:
-
There are four geographical areas of cover: Europe, Africa Only, Worldwide excluding USA, and Worldwide.
- Within your chosen geographical area of cover, you are free to choose where you receive treatment. You are not limited to healthcare in your country of residence. Within this area, you may also plan and undergo treatments in another country, as long as that country is included in your geographical area of cover. However, travel and accommodation costs are at your own expense. An exception applies to the USA: there, you must use a contracted healthcare provider.
-
Outside your selected geographical area of cover, you have limited coverage. In such cases, the insurance provides reimbursement for emergency medical care only, for a maximum of 6 weeks per trip. This reimbursement does not apply to planned treatments.
-
If you want full coverage in the USA, you must choose Worldwide. If you do not live in the USA and choose excluding USA, Africa, or Europe, you will still have coverage in the USA during holidays and travel for unforeseen emergency medical situations, for a continuous period of up to 6 weeks.
-
If you live in Africa, you have the option to choose Africa Only coverage. This is more affordable, but it means you have limited coverage outside Africa, and therefore you will not have the option to undergo planned treatments or surgeries, for example, in the Netherlands.
